- Priscilla was named after her mother, Priscilla Hodgson, who was born 1841 St Johns Parish Cty Durham England. She sailed (the mother) to N. America, and married William Sollitt, who had also sailed from Yorkshire (Liverpool to New York City aboard vessel "City of New York" 1862). They resided Ontario Canada, and Priscilla was 8th of 9 children sired by William and Priscilla. Elizabeth and John (my grandfather)were born in Canada, then they all moved to Ohio, where William, Mary, Joseph and Sarah were born, then they moved back to Canada, where Isabella, PRISCILLA, and George were born. William Sr died in a train wreck as he was travelling from Syracuse to his dying wife Priscilla, 1895. She died in Ontario, he died in the wreck, and his body was never found. I am a grand-nephew of Priscilla Sollitt 1877-1968. My name is Percy L. Bud Sollitt b 1935, Edmonton Alberta, to John Percy Sollitt, Gladys B Pederson. Dad was born 1900 Strathcona(Edmonton) to John Hodgson Sollitt, Mary Ann Jefferys.
