  Notes	Service Information Period of Service:World War II Service Numbers:M35905 CRAWFORD Passed away in Lethbridge on Saturday, March 26, 1994, Mr. GEORGE VICTOR CRAWFORD, at the age of 75 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Eunice Crawford of Lethbridge, Alberta. Born on October 20, 1918 in Lethbridge where he was also raised and educated, George met and later married Eunice Dorothy Johnson on August 2, 1940. George enlisted with the Royal Canadian Engineers and fought overseas during the Second World War. Stationed first in Truro N.S., then in England, then in France. After the war, George continued his career as a carpenter. In 1954, George was employed with the Alberta Government as a carpenter until ill health forced his retirement in 1977. George was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion General Stewart Branch #4. He was also an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. George will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Besides his loving wife, Eunice, George is also survived by one son, Roy (Beverley) Crawford of Medicine Hat; four daughters: Dorothy (Nick) Rosenfell and Joanne (Herman) Neiboer of Lethbridge, Beverly Yas of Wrentham and Karen (Harold) James of Lethbridge; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two sisters: Evelyn Crawford of Vancouver, B.C. and Merle Shields of Black Diamond. He was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Rietta Crawford; one sister, Lois; and one son-in-law, Tony Yas. CREMATION. A Private Memorial Service was held at 3:30 P.M., on Wednesday, March 30, 1994 in MARTIN BROS. RIVERSIDE CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Larry D. Hankinson officiating.

  Notes	Reitta and Roland were married in Lethbridge, Alberta. Prior to their marriage, Reitta worked at the Lethbridge Herald as a bookkeeper. Roland was a travelling salesman in Southern Alberta and B.C. for Horne and Pitfield, a wholesale grocery firm. The moved to Vancouver, B.C. around 1944. They owned a grocery store there for a while then retired. At age 95, Reitta was still living at home, active in her church, and enjoyed playing bingo and bridge. Up until a few years prior to this she still did her handywork: knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint.
