Peterborough area paper Mrs Fortune (Ann) wife of Mr Fortune (Thomas) started across Pigeon Lake in a small punt. tuesday last, from Jacob's Island with her two youngest children age 6 months and two yrs to visit a Mrs Crowley. They did not return and on Thursday they found the body of Mrs Fortune and the search for the children continued dated 26 may 1876.
