Peterborough area paper Mrs Fortune (Ann) wife of Mr Fortune (Thomas) started across Pigeon Lake in a small punt. tuesday last, from Jacob's Island with her two youngest children age 6 months and two yrs to visit a Mrs Crowley. They did not return and on Thursday they found the body of Mrs Fortune and the search for the children continued dated 26 may 1876. Ann Johnson and her two daughters were the first to be buried at the Sandy Lake cemetary in Bobcaygeon Reported by Karen Lindley, April 2007 [S62] Ontario Marriage Registrations.
