  [S25] St. Agnes Parish Registers. Their marriage is number 66 in the year 1840. He was listed as a 28 year old widower, and a Miner of Mount Hawke in the Parish of St. Agnes. She, using the name Jane, was listed as a 31 year old single woman from Wheel Butson in the Parish of St. Agnes. His father was listed as Richard Jory, a Miner, and her father Samuel Nankivell, also a Miner. They were married by R. M. Hodges, Superintendent Registrar, according to the rites and cerremonies of the parties. James Mathews and Alice Jory (his grandmother) were the witnesses. James signed the register and Jane "made her mark".
