- Louise Elizabeth McIlmoyl
On Friday, March 7, 2003, Louise Elizabeth McIlmoyl, late of Weyburn, passed away at Souris Valley Extended Care Centre, at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by her father and mother, Thomas and Louise Hanna; first husband, Hugh Tincher; second husband, Nelson McIlmoyl; and her brother, Tom. Louise will be lovingly remembered by her son, Derrick (Christine) Tincher of Calgary, AB and by her grandchildren: Morgan Tincher of Vancouver, BC and Jeffrey and Brendan Tincher of Calgary, AB; one sister Beverly (Met) Ukrainetz of Vancouver; one brother, Bud Hanna of Kindersley, as well as many nieces and nephews. Louise Elizabeth Hanna was born September 30, 1911 at Toronto, ON. She attended school to grade eight, worked through the great depression, and lived through two world wars. In 1939 Louise married Hugh Everett Tincher in Flin Flon, MB. They lived in Abbey, Spalding, Regina and for the past 55 years, she has lived in Weyburn. Hugh was a Veteran of WWII and Louise worked as House Mother at the Saskatchewan Hospital Nurses Residence. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church for at least 53 years and a member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Alexandria Rebekah Lodge #14. She enjoyed social dancing, singing in church, making afghans, cooking and being with her grandchildren. Her family sums up their personal feelings by saying, "We will miss you mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend. The brightness of your smile and your hearty laugh and sense of humour will be with us always. You were the glue that held our extended families (the Hannas and the Tinchers) together. You will be missed." Funeral service was held Thursday, March 13, at 2:00 p.m. from Knox Presbyterian Church, Weyburn, with Rev. John Ferrier officiating. Interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. Honorary pallbearers were Pearl Little and Don and Fern Kunard. The active pallbearers were Greg Kingdon, Tom Hanna, her son, Derrick, and her grandsons, Morgan, Jeffrey and Brendan Tincher. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements were entrusted to Fletcher Funeral Chapels Ltd., Weyburn. (842-5432)
